Faith Christian School History

In 1997 a small group of  local men and women began to envision a Christian school like no other.  The vision was to establish an interdenominational Christian school with a dedication to excellence in academics, athletics and the arts, with a primary mission to graduate authentic Christian leaders who would impact the world around them for Christ. Inspired by the response of other parents in the area, the group of Faith's "forefathers" began to pray that God would open the opportunity for such a school.

Through a series of events that many describe as miraculous, the vision became reality when Faith Christian School formally launched operations at the facilities of First Baptist Church of Colleyville on August 25, 1999. The Faith legacy began with 466 students.

As demand for the school grew within the local community, it became clear that Faith would quickly outgrow the facilities at First Baptist. The Faith Board began a search for property on which to build school facilities where the commitment to excellence would continue.

In 2001, Faith witnessed another miraculous work of God to provide for the need. Facilities that had previously served as the home for Grapevine Middle School became available to lease. In 2001, Faith leased the facilities with an option to purchase. The Faith family worked hard to improve the landmark facilities. Workdays saw moms, dads, grandparents, and students all joining together to clean, paint, landscape, and prepare the property for the Faith community.

With a fresh face-lift, the new Faith Christian School, located at 730 East Worth Street, near downtown Grapevine, opened its doors on August 15, 2001, with 469 students gracing the campus. In the summer of 2004, Faith received accreditation from the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI), and in December 2005, from the Southern Association of Colleges and School, two years ahead of schedule. Today, the 16.5-acre campus buzzes with more than 600 authentic Christian leaders of tomorrow.

The rigorous academic program, under the passionate oversight of over 90 committed teachers, staff and administrators, has produced graduates who have gone on to pursue higher education at  nationally recognized universities.

Athletically, the school has produced state champions in men's and ladies’ basketball, men's soccer, men's baseball, men's track, ladies' softball, men's cross-country, swimming and diving and has become a district playoff contender in nearly every other sport.

The commitment to the arts has allowed Faith students to receive superior honors at both ACSI and TAPPS (Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools) music competitions, and to take top honors in both elementary and secondary ACSI art competitions. Faith also placed third in the TAPPS overall state competition in art.

A commitment to enriching the lives of others has allowed Faith the opportunity to be involved in ministry in the local area, across the nation, and around the world. Faith students and faculty have served meals to the homeless, spread compassion to ill and disenfranchised children and senior citizens, provided hurricane relief, supported American service men and women abroad, and worked hands-on with orphans in India and Russia.

The school is growing into the vision the founders of Faith saw years ago. In fact, in nearly every area during its young existence, Faith seems to be ahead of schedule. God’s timeframe for our growth and influence has prevailed.
