The kindergarten classes are a great introduction to music.  All students are given the opportunity to learn how to play the violin using the Suzuki method.  Students are introduced to the instrument by using a dowel rod bow and a foam violin.  They learn all of the techniques used to play a real violin.  In the spring, each student is given a chance to play a real violin in class.  Violin techniques are highlighted in the kindergarten graduation ceremony.
 
In addition to violin study, kindergarten classes study singing skills, music theory, music history and creative movement.  Performances include a musical at Christmas, as well as a performance at kindergarten graduation.
 
First and second grades study singing skills, performance skills, creative movement, music history, as well as the study of various styles and genres of music throughout the ages.  Students also use classroom instruments such as hand bells and rhythm instruments.  The first and second grades perform twice a year at Christmas and again in the spring.
 
Third grade studies singing skills, performance skills, music history, as well as the study of various styles and genres of music throughout the ages.  The third and fourth grades prepare choral pieces to participate in the ACSI music festival and Sandy Lake Fun Fest.  Classes also perform a musical in the fall and one at Christmas.
 
Fourth grade studies singing skills, performance skills, music history, as well as the study of various styles and genres of music throughout the ages.  They also learn to play the recorder using the Recorder Karate method.  The third and fourth grades prepare choral pieces to participate in the ACSI music festival and Sandy Lake Fun Fest.  Classes also perform a musical in the fall and one at Christmas.
 
Fifth grade studies sight reading, singing skills, performance skills, music history, as well as the study of various styles and genres of music throughout the ages. They perform a musical at Christmas and a variety show in the spring put on and executed solely by the 5th grade class.
