UNIFORM REQUIREMENTS
Faith Christian School has a required uniform dress code. Student clothing must be conservative, neat, clean, pressed, and properly fitted. Junior High and High School students who do not adhere to the dress code will be assigned a detention and must either must call home for proper items or be sent home. Faith Christian School administration reserves the right to determine the appropriateness of all clothing worn at school and school functions. All final decisions rest with administration.
WHERE TO PURCHASE
• Beginning the 2008 – 2009 school year, all polo shirts must be purchased from A Great Idea

• Students may wear any combination of school approved uniform items.

Plaid skirt with either white blouse or polo

HAIR
Students will keep their hair neat, clean, well groomed, and in traditional styles and
colors.
• Length in front should not hamper vision.
• The minimum acceptable standard for boy’s haircuts will be as follows:
• Hair is off the collar in back and off the eyebrows in front, the bottom of the ear is plainly showing, and the sideburns do not extend below the bottom of the ear.
• No facial hair will be allowed.
COSMETICS
• Girls may wear foundation, blush, powder, and lipstick in traditional conservative colors (grades 6-12).
• Eye shadow may be worn, but it should enhance the natural skin tones.
• Mascara may be worn, but false eyelashes are not permitted.
• Fingernail polish in traditional tones may be worn.
JEWELRY
• Boys may wear watches, necklaces, and finger rings only.
• Girls may wear watches, bracelets, finger rings, pierced earrings (two (2) pair maximum).
• No cartilage earrings may be worn.
• Piercings other than 2 earlobe piercing are not permitted.
FOOTWEAR
• All footwear must have an enclosed heel and toe.
• Shoes must be clean and in good repair.
• Sandals and flip-flops are not permitted.
• Athletic shoes may be worn everyday except Chapel Day.
• Dress shoes may be worn any day.
• Regular dress shoes must be either dark brown or black or combination thereof with enclosed heel and toes.
• Boots must be worn inside the pant leg.
WINTER WEAR
• Coats, jackets, sweatshirts and sweaters with Faith logo may be worn.
• Coats and jackets to be worn inside the building must fall within the following criteria:
o Solid red, white or navy zip up jacket or sweater
o No pullovers other than Faith logo wear
o Must be clean, neat and in good repair
• Blankets/ quilts are not permitted.
DOLLAR DAY ATTIRE
Dollar Day Attire consists of approved Faith Logo wear and blue jeans, pants, skirts or shorts.
o Clothing must fit properly and be of modest length.
o Jeans must not be ripped or torn.
All guidelines related to hats, hair, jewelry, footwear and winter wear will remain in effect.
FREE DRESS/SPECIAL EVENTS ATTIRE
On these designated days, approved by the Faith Administration, students have the option of not wearing the school uniform for free dress to recognize school events and functions.

Free Dress Attire:
o Blouses, shirts, sweatshirts, and t-shirts that are clean, modest and of proper fit, of the student’s choosing.
o No logo wear other than Faith logo
Special Event Attire:
Some events may call for students to support a particular event by dressing in a specific fashion. Ex: Homecoming Week, Red-Out Days, Grandparents Day, SLU Days. Criteria for these days will be announced prior to the event. All guidelines related to accessories will remain in effect.
MISCELLANEOUS INFORMATION
• Students who are enrolled at Faith Christian School must be in uniform while on campus during entire school day (7:45 – 3:15).
• Tattoos are not permitted in any form.
• Hats are not to be worn in the building, but may be worn outside.
• No logos of any kind other than Faith wear.
• Girls should wear shorts under their skirts/jumpers. They cannot extend below the hem of the garment.
• Girls are not permitted to wear pants under their skirts.
• Skirts and/or jumpers cannot be more than 3 inches above the middle of the knee cap.
• All optional wear must be solid colors of Faith red, navy and/or white.
