Leadership

“To graduate and develop authentic Christian leaders” is a monumental task.  And yet, that truly is the mission of Grapevine Faith.  More than a catchy phrase, this mantra has become a reality through intentionality and perseverance.  When does this transformation start?  From the beginning of the application process to graduation and beyond, this process of growth continues to be the goal.  Here are a few examples of the activities/programs/initiatives that help contribute to Faith’s environment of raising up leaders:

Elementary

  • “Leader in Me” program infused with Scripture
  • Morning assembly highlighting leadership
  • Classroom leadership opportunities at every grade level
  • Post office run by 3rd  grade
  • School banking program run by 4th grade
  • Safety patrol, color guard, assembly, and Mob Squad leadership in 5th  grade

Junior High

  • Attending Leadership Rocks Conference annually
  • 6th Graders organize and run Pre-K & Kindergarten Field Day
  • 6th Graders organize and operate Winter Wonderland gift shop
  • 6th Grade trip to Pine Cove utilizes students throughout trip for various leadership opportunities
  • 7th Grade trip to South Texas utilizes students throughout trip for various leadership opportunities
  • JH Student Council conducts tours during Grandparents’ Day, Open Houses, and other significant events
  • JH Student Council organizes the Thanksgiving Basket Outreach to provide holiday meal baskets for 100 local families in need
  • 8th grade trip to West Texas utilizes students throughout trip for various leadership opportunities
  • 8th grade students participate in Leadership Rocks
  • 8th grade students participate in Student Leadership University 101

High School

  • Student Leadership University programs in the summer to include travel to Washington, D.C., Europe, Israel, Jordan, and China.
  • Significant Task: Projects organized and executed by students.  Lower class trips, chapels, mission trips, conferences, world travel, etc.
  • Bible Buddies with Elementary students
  • Student Council
  • National Honor Society
  • Student Congress
  • Lion Leadership Academy
  • Creative Church Conference
  • 9th Grade Retreat
  • High School Retreat:  Planned, organized, and executed by Senior class
